Yes, “what does have planned in 2013”? Inquiring minds would like to know. On the face of it, between the “bringing print and digital media together” and the listing of several writers who no longer are with Marvel – such as Warren Ellis, Stan Lee and Garth Ennis = it would seem that it’s going to be a bunch of re-released old trades with more of Marvel’s digital augmented reality application Easter eggs shoe horned into them. Marvel originally unveiled its AR app at SXSW last year and has used it to include digital-only content in its books, which has ranged from song snippets for background ambiance to interviews with Marvel staff involved with the books. I’m in if the app is going to unlock a video clip of Warren Ellis shrieking at viewers to get off his lawn, but not if it’s just going to show me naked pictures of Stan Lee. There’s already been too much of that.
